Where the Wild Things Are (currently exhibiting)

This little 6x8” acrylic painting is named after one of my kids’s favourite storybooks “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, because of the wildness of the leaves of the plant, and how the flower itself seems to crave to be out in the great, wild yonder. It also helped that the inspiration were flowers that I just could not get enough of, while I was in one of my favourite coffee shops (The Lodge in Bath, On.) which also happens to be in a fantastic, little book store (Books on Main).
This piece was made on hand-stretched canvas with acrylic paint and sealer produced by Tri-Art Mfg. in Kingston, Ontario. Ready to hang with d-hooks and wire on the back.
